The Ryan Burns Trio/Quartet

The Ryan Burns Trio explores the classic piano trio format, much in the lineage of greats Ahmad Jamal, Oscar Peterson, and Bill Evans. “That’s The Ryan Burns Trio” CD was independently released in 1998 with bassist Geoff Harper and drummer Mike Stafford. Over the next decade, the trio has taken on many incarnations, one of which recorded the 2007 CD “Tree-O” (odd bird records) featuring all original compositions with Geoff Cooke, bass and Jose Martinez, drums. Burns employed the bass/drum combo of Jeff Johnson and Tad Britton for its current release Ryan Burns Trio “Live at The Lab,” which features compositions by Peter Erskine, Ornette Coleman, and others.

17th Chapter

"17th Chapter take the stage and dish out an almost unclassifiable blend of dance-rock meets alt-country. Whichever direction a song happens to be taking, from blustery rock to blissful folk, the band is perfectly blended and will not lead you astray." Thomas Marriott's Willie Nelson Project

The award winning trumpeter Thomas Marriott presents reworkings of classic songs by the great american singer-songwriter Willie Nelson.

Marriott has transformed much of the country-western material to fit his modern five-piece electric jazz group which includes drummer Matt Jorgensen, bassist Geoff Harper, saxophonist Mark Taylor and keyboardist Ryan Burns.

Taking material from many of Nelson's hit songs and some lesser known tunes as well, Marriott has reinvented the material to create new and unique forms for improvisation and interplay.
